It was a great sunny February day, perfect for the south facing rocky cliffs of
Mount Eerie. Robert, Michael, Kris, and I headed out for a day of fun in
the sun. Most of my favorite pictures from this trip are not climbing
ones!
Robert and Michael looking for a good climb. There was some sort of Mountaineers training trip going on as well so we had to hit the road less travelled, a good choice.
Michael on Psycho Crack After lunch, Kris took off in the car and Robert, Michael, and I went searching for the 4 pitch "Zig Zag". We hiked up the trail a bit and then got in a short stint of good ole bushwacking through some mostly thorny bushes and steep rocky mossy sections. We found it without too much trouble.

Here's a pitch with a view (above). I'd never been to this area before; it was great to look back during the climb and see these sorts of views. The little island in the lake is really cool.

Here we are at the top of the climb. Man, what a great way to end the day. The sun's just starting to go down and there's not a cloud in the sky. We also still fit in another climb (Kris joined us) after finishing Zig Zag and we ended up hiking a short way back to the car as the sun was almost set. |
